A five hour plane ride from California to Florida brought on some extra time to draw how I was feeling at the time. That’s me with the mouse ears, balloon, and camera. Destination – Disney World: The happiest Place on Earth!

I went on vacation to Florida’s Epcot Center and had a blast! Standing in line at Epcot’s “Test Track” ride for over two hours, I decided to pull out my sketch book and pass the time by drawing a sketch while waiting. Everyone in line stared at me.
Technically, I’ve been carrying around my Fabriano Artist’s Journal which has an assortment of pastel colored paper. It’s an experiment to see how i like it. Drawing on a colored background fills the background and gives the appearance that the composition is more complete. As I add color, I pull color away.
I think I like the result.

Here’s something I came up with while brainstorming for a employee incentive program. I was asked to draw a couple of comical situations showing “velocity” with the caption: “Be the one to break through” (or something like that).
Although, this drawing never made it past the planning stages. It never got printed which is too bad. Well, it’s a great entry for this week’s www.illustrationfriday.com word: Buzzzzzz. Hope you like it!
But wait a minute here folks. I’ve also written a poem to go with the above illo:
A little pink “pheonix” went a-flapping
above a couple havin’ a dinner;
Then the bald guy just won’t stop a-yapping
about how he’s such a big fat winner!
Happy New Year everyone!
2007’s is gonna be a great year!
Let’s all get creative and push ourselves even more!
